Rensselaer Once Again Ranks Among Nation’s Top 50 Universities

U.S. News & World Report once again places Rensselaer among the nation’s top 50 universities. Rensselaer also ranks 29th in the “Best Values” among national universities, up from 34th last year. More

South Campus Transformation Continues

The transformation of Rensselaer’s south campus continues as progress is made on several major construction projects and infrastructure improvements, according to Oleh Turczak, Rensselaer’s project manager. The work is part of a planned $255 million package that includes a 218,000-square-foot biotechnology center, a 500-car parking garage, a boiler plant, a chiller plant, electrical substation, an experimental media and performing arts center, and related improvements to campus landscaping and infrastructure. As the new semester begins, major construction and improvements on existing infrastructure and parking on campus continues to swiftly move ahead. Parking gates have been installed in North, West, Academy Hall, AS&RC parking lots, and the Sage Avenue entrance. More

President Issues Statement Regarding NCAA Proposal for Reforms in Division III

In a statement issued on August 13, 2003, President Shirley Ann Jackson has vowed that "Rensselaer will engage in a vigorous and sustained effort to defeat the NCAA President's Council's proposal" to eliminate the awarding of athletics aid by Division III member institutions in sports classified in Division I. More

New Course Delves Into Business Side of Biotechnology

This fall, Rensselaer students will have a new opportunity to round out the scientific side of their education with a class that delves into the business of biotechnology. Seniors and graduate students interested in taking biomedical developments from lab experiment to product launch will benefit from a course that focuses on the business, regulatory, and ethical issues that are all part of the biotech and medical device industries.
