Message From President's Parking
Task Force: Information for Faculty and Staff
As you know, the campus is expanding and we are building
a better Rensselaer. Construction has begun on the Center
for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies and the
parking garage, as well as other major projects.
We want to make you aware of where you can
park to avoid the construction site on the south campus
— and how you can get to and from campus quickly and
safely.
Due to construction there will be no parking
on the south side of Cogswell, Empire State Hall, and the
Materials Research Center; or on the south side of the Darrin
Communications Center and the Low Center. Parking in the
rear of Academy Hall has been significantly reduced.
Where Can I Park?
The following lots have been designated as parking areas
for faculty/staff only. You may park in these lots with
any current Faculty/Staff parking decal except as noted
below* from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Check
your parking sticker, then check out this
map to find the parking area closest to you.
- North Lot
- Alumni Sports & Recreation
Center (AS&RC)
- Commons West
- Hall Hall
- Sharp Lots
West Hall* - W Permits Only
- Academy Hall
- East Cogswell* - C & Handicapped
permits only
Field House Parking
As an alternative, you may park at the Field House (with
a C, G, N, or W decal) and take the new Red Hawk Shuttle.
The shuttle will operate continuously during the hours of
7 a.m. to 11 p.m. You can find the shuttle information and
map at http://squirrel.pt.rpi.edu/shuttle.html.
If you want to get downtown to the Hedley,
Gurley, or Rice Buildings, check the downtown shuttle schedule
at http://www.pt.rpi.edu/downtown_shuttle.html.
Staying Late?
Many of you may be in the lab or working late into the night.
After 5 p.m. feel free to move your car from a distant lot
to any legal parking space.
You may also call Public Safety at 276-6656
for a personal safety escort. This service is available
24 hours a day to safely transport you to your car.
