On Wednesday,
April 23, at 2 p.m., in the Darrin Communications Center,
room 330, Michael Hudak will speak about the environmental
repercussion of agriculture. Hudak is director of public
lands without livestock, a project of Social and Environmental
Entrepreneurs, based in California.
Also on Wednesday, Michael Tennis of the
Massachusetts consulting firm Efficient and Sustainable
Resources will be available to help students perfect resumes
and to answer questions about employment in the environmental
workforce. Tennis will be on hand 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at
the Rensselaer Career Development Center’s cafe
in the Darrin Communications Center. Later, at 4 p.m.
in DCC 330, Tennis will speak about renewable energy in
today's marketplace.
On Thursday,
a hike is planned to the Peace Pagoda at Grafton State
Park. Hikers will depart in front of the Rensselaer Union
at 2 p.m. Registration is urged to ensure that accommodations
can be made for those who need transportation to the hiking

On Friday at
3 to 7 p.m. at the Rensselaer Union, EarthFest will feature
live music, vegetarian food, a hybrid truck exhibit, and
renewable energy displays. A Habitat-for-Humanity benefit
concert also will take place in the Union’s McNeil
Room. Bands include the Wait, Sirsy, The Tangent, and
Off White. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5.
