Blitman To Receive RAA Fellows Award
Howard Blitman '50 will be recognized with
the Rensselaer Alumni Association Fellows Award from the
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering on Monday,
May 6, at the department's advisory board meeting.
Blitman is president and CEO of Blitman
Building Corporation and president-elect of the National
Society of Professional Engineers for the 2001-2002 term.
He received a bachelor's in civil engineering from Rensselaer
in 1950 and a master's in political science and government
from the New School of Social Research in 1976.
He is an inaugural member and past chair
of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Advisory Board
at Rensselaer. Blitman and his wife, Maureen, are members
of the Amos Eaton Society of Patroons.
The Rensselaer Alumni Association Fellows
Award was created to honor those alumni or non-alumni of
Rensselaer who, by their achievements in a chosen profession
or endeavor or by their service to the Institute, have set
an example for Rensselaer men and women to emulate. To date,
112 RAA Fellows Awards have been presented.
