| Kimberly Foore and Margaret Tongue, educators in the Archer Center for Student Leadership Development, gave a presentation "Collaborating To Teach Leadership In and Out of the Classroom," during the New York State Leadership Educators Consortium annual conference at SUNY Geneseo on May 13. Foore and Tongue discussed the Archer Center as a leadership "best practices" model that provides skill-based, interactive leadership education. Linda McGown, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, has been appointed to the editorial board of the journal NanoBiotechnology. A new international peer-reviewed journal, NanoBiotechnology publishes research papers covering all aspects at the intersection of nanotechnology, molecular biology, and biomedical sciences. Achille Messac, professor of mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering, recently served as conference chair for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics for the "6th World Congress on Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization," which is the biannual conference of the International Society of Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization. The conference was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. |
