Waking up to the “Quiet Crisis” in the United States; It's Time for a New Call to Action
May 25, 2007, marked the anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s address to a joint session of Congress, calling for an effort to put a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s. Rensselaer President Shirley Ann Jackson, saying that ‘energy security is the space race of this millennium’, has long urged a similar call to action, focusing on a national initiative to address the global energy security challenge what she considers the greatest challenge of our time.
