Wolf von Maltzahn
Acting Vice President for Research

The acting vice president for research is responsible for advancing the research enterprise across the full range of academic disciplines and interdisciplinary activities at Rensselaer. The acting vice president for research works closely with the president and provost in the development and implementation of policies and practices relating to all aspects of the research mission.

Immediately prior to his appointment as associate vice president for research at Rensselaer in 2002, Wolf von Maltzahn served as vice president for biomedical engineering at the Whitaker Foundation for seven years. Von Maltzahn is an elected fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) and the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), a senior member of Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE/EMBS), and a member of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE).
