Howard P. Isermann ’42, earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer in 1942. Isermann is retired chairman/chief executive officer and founder of NOVAROME, Inc., Fairfield, N.J. He has had extensive industrial experience, beginning with an engineering position at Lockheed Corporation, then as an engineer with Van Dyk and Company subsequently becoming Van Dyk's vice president, then president. He retired from Van Dyk in 1984 and started NOVAROME from which he retired in 1994.
A member of the Board of Trustees for twelve years, The Stephen Van Rensselaer Society, and the Heritage Society of Patroons of Rensselaer, Isermann has been active in Rensselaer alumni activities for a number of years. He was the recipient of the 1994 Rensselaer Alumni Association's prestigious Distinguished Service Award, the Albert Fox Demers Medal in 1987, and the Alumni Key Award in 1968. He has served for a number of years as Rensselaer's chairman of the Industrial Advisory Committee to the Chemical Engineering Department.
Isermann was a director on a number of industry-association boards, is currently a trustee of the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Foundation, trustee of New College Foundation, and was a former trustee of the Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
