Baliga Inducted Into Electronic Design Hall of Fame

Jim Miller ’53 represented Rensselaer and President Shirley Ann Jackson as the delegate at the presidential inauguration of Lynn Pasquerella at Mt. Holyoke College in September 2010.

More than 50 alumni members of Lambda Chi Alpha gathered in Troy for a reunion and plaque dedication ceremony held in May. The bronze plaque was installed in the new Hilton Garden Inn, which was built on the site of their former fraternity house at 243 Hoosick Street.

The plaque reads, in part: “Known and respected for their camaraderie and their many contributions to campus life, the brothers were easily recognized on campus by their green LXA jackets that inspired the nickname of ‘The Green Beetles.’ ” Above, from left, are Peter Watts ’53, Bob Aldrich ’57, Remo D’Ortenzio ’56, Jack Ramsey ’58, Bill Gardiner ’57, and Brian Orecchio ’12, current LXA president.
