At Rensselaer, Freshman Applications Jump 100 Percent in Three Years
January 17, 2008: More than 11,000 high school students have filed applications to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The record number of applications for 2008 is up 10 percent from the previous year, and it is more than double the number received just three years ago in 2005.

July 5, 2007: Senior Phillip Bracken scored a front-row seat June 8 to watch the space shuttle Atlantis take off and embark on its 11-day mission. He is one of only 18 college students from across the nation to be accepted into a summer internship program at NASA’s Goddard Academy. |

Robert Palazzo Appointed Provost of Rensselaer
June 28, 2007: Robert E. Palazzo, director of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies, and professor of biology at Rensselaer, has been appointed to the position of provost after a rigorous national search. Palazzo assumed his new position July 1. |

Career Development Center Wins National Award for Undergraduate Program
June 1, 2007: When it comes to identifying, planning for, and achieving career goals, undergraduate students are getting a head start from the Career Development Center at Rensselaer. For their efforts, the center won a National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Excellence Award for developing its “Sophomore Career Experience” program. |
