The term paper accounts for 40% of the final grade. This handout is designed to help you choose a topic.

Topic Selection: Your topic should be something which is strategic, involves managing technological innovation, and is specifically related to the concepts of the course. Choose a topic that interests you. It could be related to your work, or something which you would like to be involved.

Context of Presentation: Some suggestions are:

Case Study: Illustrate a problem and analyze it using the tools and concepts learned in the course. You could explain a success or failure, using course concepts to propose what did or did not work.

Literature Review: Several topics are covered in the course that can be further explored by a comprehensive literature review.

Report Format: The format for the project must be as follows:

Title page: Project Title, Name, Site
Executive Summary
Table of Contents (with corresponding page numbers)
Introduction
Body
Conclusions
Acknowledgments and References

The Paper should be about 20 pages, typed, double spaced, and pages should be numbered.

IMPORTANT: Be sure that you make explicit the connections to the course by citing readings and using the tools, concepts and techniques from the course to illustrate the major points of you r paper. This is one of the ways we can avoid getting "recycled" reports.

Call me or one of the TA's if you have any doubts about the appropriateness of your topic.

Due Date: Exact dates will be announced later. Typically, it is the last day of classes.
