International Symposia On Environmental Biogeochemistry (ISEB)

Objectives of ISEB

To promote free interchange of scientific information among geochemists, geologists, biologists, microbiologists, soil scientists, limnologists, oceanographers, atmospheric scientists, and any other professionals with an interest in environmental biogeochemistry/geomicrobiology.

ISEB Organization

The International Symposia on Environmental Biogeochemistry is a non-membership organization, incorporated in the State of Delaware, U.S.A., under the name of International Symposia on Environmental Biogeochemistry, Inc.

ISEB holds biennial meetings at which various topics dealing with environmental biogeochemistry and geomicrobiology, usually around a specially chosen, central theme, are discussed. Oral presentations include several invited keynote lectures, each on a different aspect of the central theme. Each keynote lecture is followed by selected, shorter, related oral presentations. Each topic is also explored in unsolicited poster presentations. Each Symposium is organized by a National Committee headed by a Chairperson who represents the host country where the meeting is held.

To date, fourteen symposia have been held. All but two of the Proceedings have been or will be published.
