If you are planning to leave Rensselaer before the end of your lease or use agreement as explained below and on the form you submitted, you must return the laptop computer. You can also check your laptop record in SIS for your specific details.

If you have any questions, please contact Pat Valiquette at (518) 276-3838 or by

to make arrangements for your specific situation.

  • Purchased laptops - Laptops that are purchased through the Mobile Computing Program are not returnable.
  • Lease-to-own laptops - The lease cannot be cancelled. However, students who are participating in the "Two Year Lease to Own" Program are required to return the laptop, if they are not enrolled at Rensselaer during the two-year lease period.
  • Others - Students who received their laptop in any other way from Rensselaer are required to return the laptop, if they are not enrolled at Rensselaer during the two years immediately following the receipt of the laptop.

The laptop must be returned in working order, with no physical damage. You will be charged for any repairs we find that are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.
