	The laptop selected for Fall 2008 is the ThinkPad T61p (complete specs, brochure) Incoming students will receive a complete packet of information with the necessary forms in the mail. [Update: This mailing was sent out on July 3rd.] Forms for returning students and details about the trade-up program for T60's and T43p's are on-line.

If you have a T60 or T43p laptop, you can re-image your laptop with Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate. We do not recommend that you upgrade to Vista, but rather than you do a clean install.

Each Vista install requires a unique product key, so before re-imaging you must purchase the media (which comes with a unique code) from the Rensselaer Campus Computer Store for $20. Present the SIS page that shows your laptop status as being a participant in the Mobile Computing Program.

After you have purchased the media and code, come to the Help Desk to
re-image your laptop with a base image that includes Office 2007.
