When you picked up your laptop, you accepted responsibilities for the use of that software. Below we will explain your current responsibilities and acceptance terms. Software responsibilities and upgradesResponsibilities
Software Upgrades -- Windows 7 and Office 2010
Other software Due to the licensing restrictions listed under the "Grant of License" section of your laptop receipt form, you must remove all licensed software from your laptop once you are no longer a registered student at Rensselaer. This licensed software would include, but would not necessarily be limited to, the following:
You will also be responsible for removing any software you might have downloaded via the Help Desk page, as well as any specialized software you may have had to install for your Rensselaer coursework. Backing up your systemBackup your laptop regularly. We have always recommended backing up your system, and this is even more important now because you might not have media, such as a CD or DVD, available to restore your operating system to its original state. We strongly recommend that you perform a backup of your system after removing the required licensed software to prepare in case of a disk failure or data corruption. Future warranty and non-warranty repairsIf you do encounter hardware problems, you may call Lenovo Care directly at 1-800-426-7378 for assistance, or contact your local Lenovo authorized retailer.
