| Marathon Oil Corporation Endowed Scholarship
Marathon Oil Corporation recognizes the talent at Rensselaer, and realizes that investing in our students increases the pool of prospective employees to choose from. Two years ago, the company established an endowed scholarship for Rensselaer students with the focus on women and underrepresented minorities in select programs (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Chemical Engineering, and Geology). The scholarship was awarded to the following students: Sunny Chiang '12, Chemical Engineering, and Amanda George '12, Civil Engineering.
A successful internship program was also established for Rensselaer students to gain valuable work experience at Marathon Oil Corporation. Marcus Browne ’12, Electrical Engineering, Sunny Chaing ’12, Chemical Engineering, Angelo Polanco ’13, Civil Engineering, Lasana Power ’11, Chemical Engineering, and Cailin Taylor ’11, Chemical Engineering, have participated in the dynamic program.
Marathon Oil Corporation supports education at all grade levels, with an emphasis on increasing interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields of study for primary and secondary school students.
