Greetings from the Career Development Center! We are hard at work preparing for our annual spring career fair, which will be held this year on Friday, February 9th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Armory. Students may visit our website in January to view a list of participating employers and a schedule of career fair preparation workshops, including Resumania, How to Work the Room, Ace Your Interview, and many more!
In 2005-2006, more than 330 students went out on co-op in over 25 different states, including some overseas special assignments! The co-op program provides students the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to real-life work situations. The co-op office in the CDC coordinates co-op programs in both the fall and spring semesters. Since obtaining a co-op assignment is a competitive process for most, the staff at the CDC is prepared to assist students at every stage. We encourage any student considering a co-op to stop in the CDC early on in their academic years to begin the planning process.
Perhaps most essential to your student's professional development at Rensselaer is registration in Redhawk Joblink, the CDC's premier online career management tool. Redhawk Joblink currently houses more than 3200 employers in our database, including more than 130 companies who came to Rensselaer to conduct on-campus interviews. Through regular use of Redhawk Joblink, your son or daughter will increase his/her chances of securing a summer internship, co-op, or full-time employment offer!
