Welcome Class of 2010 Families!

Dear First-Year Parents and Family Members,

Lisa TrahanI want to offer a warm welcome to the family members of the class of 2010. As the newest members of the Rensselaer community and we want your experience to match that of your student. During the next year of excitement and new adventure we will help you remain connected not only to your student, but to campus life as well.

During Student Orientation you had the opportunity to engage with administrators and faculty around campus, and heard about the journey that your daughters and sons are now beginning. This journey could describe their transition from teenager to emerging adult. It could represent their educational and emotional experiences that they will inevitably have along the way. And it will represent their development into a leader of tomorrow.

You are an important part of this journey. You too will experience your own discoveries alongside your daughters and sons. During this time we firmly believe that it is important for you to be involved, informed and connected to the Rensselaer community.

Therefore, I encourage you to get involved in the Parents of Rensselaer association. Whether you sign up for the Parents Listserv, volunteer your time to speak with prospective parents, or participate on the Parents Council, your involvement is important. Feel free to contact my office with any questions at (518) 276-6864 or by email at any time throughout your time at Rensselaer. I also encourage you to visit the Parents Web site at www.rpi.edu/parents for more information on benefits available to you as family members!

On behalf of my staff, we look forward to accompanying your daughters and sons on the journey that awaits them and serving as a valuable resource for you.

Best wishes,
Lisa M. Trahan
