As an active member of the Parents of Rensselaer, you can receive our bi-weekly email updates highlighting important dates and events around campus, directly to your email account. Frequently asked questions:
- How can I unsubscribe from the email list?
If you need to unsubscribe, there is a link at the bottom of every email sent. Simply click the link and you will permanently be unsubscribed.
- I unsubscribed, but now I want to continue to receive emails, what do I do?
To re-subscribe, enter your email address above and follow the directions that will be emailed to you.
- I subscribed, but I don't receive any emails. What's wrong?
Did you confirm your subscription? In order to prevent unwanted emails and invalid email addresses, we require that all addresses added beginning December 2007 be verified and confirmed. When you sign up to be on our list an email will be sent to you with a link to confirm. If you have not confirmed your subscription, you will not receive emails from us. If you need another confirmation email sent, enter your email address above and follow the directions emailed to you.
Also, be sure that you include
in your address book or "safe senders" list so the messages aren't tagged as spam or unwanted.
- I used to get emails, but now I don't. What's wrong?
We recently switched email systems (January 2008) to better serve our subscribers. If your email address bounced back or gave us errors on the old system, you were not included in the new system - please subscribe above using a different email address.
If messages sent to your email address are sent back to us (bounced), your address will be removed. Please re-subscribe above using a different email address. Occassionally ISPs and email services may block or delay emails as well. Please contact us if you continue to have difficulty.
- Will I be automatically unsubscribed when my son/daughter graduates?
No - while we ask for class year in the signup process, we will not automatically remove you because class years will often change (internships, co-ops, etc.). You can always update your class year listing in your subscription by clicking the "update profile/email address" link at the bottom of each email. If you are subscribed to a class-year-based list, we will remind you after graduation how to unsubscibe if you would like to.
