Student
Support Services Troy Campus
With students from many countries and U.S. states, Rensselaer is a university rich in diversity, yet it is compact enough to feel like its own community. Our campus is friendly and welcoming; take a walk through our virtual
tour and see for yourself! You can choose from hundreds of clubs, activities and organizations — many are available specifically for graduate students. Our Graduate School is also available to offer advice and support.
If you like music, walk the short distance to catch a concert at our very own Houston Field House. Or, enjoy a more intimate setting at Mother's Wine Emporium, the oldest continuously-operating folk coffeehouse in the country.
Want to get fit? The Mueller Fitness Center, located near Rensselaer's Student Union, contains 32,000 square feet for treadmills, cross-training machines, free weights, aerobics, kickboxing, and more. The Mueller Center is also located right next to the Alumni Sports & Recreation Center (AS&RC), which houses an indoor track, basketball and tennis courts, and the Robison Pool.
As envisioned in The Rensselaer Plan, the East Campus Athletic Village (ECAV) will meet the expectations of our current students; help us attract high-caliber student-athletes as well as non-athletes; and allow us to host many regional and national high school tournaments in several sports, which will increase Rensselaer’s visibility and attractiveness, enabling us to increase applications and enrollments. To achieve these ambitious goals, the ECAV will include renovations to the Houston Field House, a multi-purpose stadium with seating for 5,100, a basketball arena with seating for 1,200, and a new Athletic Administrative Complex.
You'll find it easy to get around here at Rensselaer! Our complete-yet-compact campus is easily accessible, and the shuttle buses can take you to nearby malls, movies, and other popular locations.
