Description
This course presents concepts and architectures of object oriented
database systems. Provides the object oriented view of data models,
query languages, versioning evolution, authorization, transaction
control, storage management, indexing techniques, distributed
data, and parallelism. Current object oriented database systems
are reviewed and compared.
Prerequisites
State of practice in modern database systems with emphasis on
relational systems (CSCI-4380) and either object oriented software
component design (CISH-4020) or theory and practice of object
oriented programming and design (CISH-6010).

Computing
