Sciences - CISH-6900
Description
For students near the end of their program, a two semester course
that meets once per month from September through March and one
Saturday in April when students give their presentations. Registration
is accepted during fall registration only. Students are required
to attend all eight meetings in order to fulfill the Seminar requirement.
This course, combined with two additional graduate credit hours,
will be the equivalent of one advanced three-credit-hour elective.
Prerequisites
Research Methods in Computer Science (CISH-6960) must be completed
before beginning this course.

Format
Classes: 8 sessions (Seven Friday evenings held once a month from
September - March, and one full-day Saturday session in April
to present papers. The exact dates are to be determined. )
Note: Students are required to attend all eight meetings in order
to fulfill the seminar requirement. Students must attend the Saturday
session in April in person at the Hartford campus.
Project: 1 (delivered in stages: proposal, outline, draft, camera-ready
copy)

Paper: 100%
Computing
Email and World Wide Web access required for course communications
and printing of course notes. Microsoft Word is required for submission
of student papers..
Access to WebCT, Rensselaer's course management
tool, is required. Please

Note:
- This is a 1-credit course that meets over
two semesters and may only be taken by CSCI students who are
at the end of their program.
- Limited enrollment, please register early.
Distance students will not be added into the course once the
cap has been met.
- Students registered in Fall 2005 will be automatically
registered for Spring 2006.
