Advanced
Content Development
Language, Literature and Communication
- COMM-696X
Description
Advanced Content Development for the World Wide Web is a course
for folks who are seeking a career in web design and who wish
to explore concepts of content development and management in greater
depth than is usually possible in an introductory course. This
studio-oriented course is designed to give you an opportunity
to analyze and create effective content for the web.
The course will explore the interplay between
content and structure in the construction and management of online
spaces. We'll also consider some "fundamentals" of web
content development, including how to create and maintain information
structures for dynamic content and how to deliver customized content
to individuals and groups.
Throughout the course, we will seek to understand
what makes content effective, manageable, and usable. We will
concentrate on both structural features of web content and development
practices that enable professionals to create and maintain content.
