NUTN 2008 Conference

Kim Scalzo (Director of Outreach Programs) and Ronnie Rowe (Sr. Student Services Administrator and Point of Contact for students via Distance) attended and participated in the 26th Annual NUTN (National University Telecommunications Network) conference in Park City, Utah from June 9-11, 2008. Both Rensselaer employees attended various NUTN workshops and seminars during this time that explored the impact of current and emerging technologies on distance and higher education, leadership in distance education, and long term strategic planning. Kim Scalzo also moderated and facilitated a thought provoking and engaging discussion on Leadership Development and New Administrators In Online Learning at the conference. The workshop addressed  common organizational elements with a focus on leadership development for online and distance education including strategic planning, student support, faculty development, and the learning infrastructure. Ronnie Rowe also participated in the Poster/Technology Demonstration, where she presented Rensselaer’s unique Point of Contact Model. Both Kim and Ronnie contributed to the success of the conference and were able to forge strong connections with other leaders in Distance education.

Prospective Students
Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, Rensselaer has begun a three year transition to phase out the delivery of degree and certificate programs via distance learning. Please be assured that all distance students will be able to complete their programs as originally planned, and we will work with each student individually to develop their plan of study or account for any changes to their plan of study resulting from this change. If you have not applied or been accepted these programs are no longer available.
