The following comments were given about the class in general:
By far the WORST course I have taken so far, both in terms of the material and the way in which is was taught. Should NOT be a required course for EE's who don't plan on studying IC design and fabrication. I don't see any use for most of the stuff I learned (or was supposed to learn) in this course.

Prof. Saxena does not teach the material to you. He skims over the notes that he has already handed out. Since we have to read the notes nothing is learned in the lecture, yet attendance is taken.

The professor is aweful. Instead of teaching, he reads from overheads. He does very few example problems and you are really expected to teach yourself the entire course.

Comments on the Proffessor:
One of the worst. He might be good at research, but he definately doesn't know how to teach. All he does is flipping through about 20 overhead foils every class, and his lectures are quite useless. He spent half of the class time taking attentance and talking about things such as how great he teaches and the "homeworks" that he did...etc. His problem sets are long but the level of difficulty is reasonable. One of the TA doesn't speak English. Also, his notes are very poor with lots of mistakes and have too many equations but few explanations that make sense.

By far the WORST professor I have ever had. He may have done a lot for RPI with his research but he CANNOT teach. His lectures consist of overheads of the class notes. Further, he wastes time every lecture by taking attendance and then refuses to place example problems in the library, but requires us to copy them from the overhead. He also constantly makes a point of telling us how much effort he is going to in order to help us learn, but this "effort" consists of placing solutions for the tests in the library and (occasionally) xeroxing example problems rather than making us copy them...in other words, things one would normally expect of a professor. Other than that, he deferred everything else to the TAs and seemed to "blame" them when things weren't available. (test scores, solutions in the library, etc.)

Although Prof Saxena has office hours, he is very unwilling to give any help. No matter what problem you seem to be having he always refers you to the TA'a. He takes no responsibility for the class whatsoever.

See above. He sucks. Don't give him tenure!

Avg. feeling about number of TA's is: 1
0 means not enough, 1 means enough.

0 people thought there weren't enough TA's (0%)
3 people thought there were enough TA's (100%)

Avg. feeling about TA office hours is: 1.5
0 means not enough, 1 means enough.

0 people thought the TA's had insufficient office hours (0%)
3 people thought the TA's had enough office hours (150%)

Comments on the TA's:
One of them doesn't speak English apparently...

Generally helpful. I think that they were unfairly burdened with a lot of tasks that professor Saxena could have done himself.

I was able to get a good grade in this class because of the TA help.

There definitely were not enough.
