Membership Information

To become a member, just drop by one of our monthly meetings to see if the photography club is for you, or email one of the officers. The current fee for RPI students and faculty is $20 per semester and $30 per year. For local community members it is $30 per semester and $45 per year.

What you get:

Darkroom:

Located in the Union, room 3410, right by the Poly Office. Available is an assortment of B&W projectors, a color projector, chemicals, tools, and pretty much everything a decent darkroom should have. If you have paid your membership dues, you can access the darkroom whenever the Union is open by going to Public Safety and asking for the Darkroom key. You'll have to surrender your RPI I.D. for this. Please knock on the inside door before entering!

Materials:

Upon signing up for membership, you are entitled to one free roll of Kodak B&W film (approx. 24 exposures) and a 10-pack of 8"x10" Kodak paper. Also covered in the membership fee is free use of whatever chemicals we have on hand. Further Kodak film and paper (and other brands by demand) is available at discounted rates for our members.

Instruction:

We periodically offer short member-taught tutorials, free of charge, on topics such as camera operation, developing/printing, and special darkroom techniques. Dates for these tutorials can be found on our calendar.

And More:

The Photo club organizes trips to various locations within reasonable driving distance, to visit galleries, musems, or places that afford nice photo opportunities. We also host an annual Photo Contest, and an on-line photo gallery is in the works. Gone is the trouble of shopping for your photography supplies, because we've done it for you!
