Tutorial Step Two: Using Darkroom Chemicals The following section contains step-by-step instructions for using darkroom chemicals to print a photograph. Take paper from the enlarger and put into developer (tray 1). Agitate gently for two to two and a half minutes. Put paper into the stop bath (tray 2). Agitate gently for two to two and a half minutes. Put paper into the fixer (tray 3). Allow paper to sit in tray 3 for five minutes. Put the paper into the water and allow it to sit in the sink for five minutes. Hang photograph on a line to dry.
