The Deadline has been extended.  Second Call for Papers

Seeking
Women of Color Writers to submit essays for Going there.  This anthology
will explore the importance of writing and creativity  in the lives of women of color. 
This anthology will explore why we write, how we write and what for.  Areas to be explored
include:  barriers to writing,  creative writing as healing, creative writing
as an expression of identity,  creative writing and spirituality,  creative
writing as a vehicle for building community, and  creative writing as an act
of rebellion. 

Guidelines

All contributors must identify as women of color and  creative writers of any
genre.  Essays (poetry or fiction excerpts can be included as part of an
essay) should follow these criteria:  2,500 words or less, typed, double
spaced, 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper, 12 pt. font with full identifying information
including phone number, address and email on the cover sheet.  Please send
two copies, one paragraph biography, and letter size SASE for confirmation of
receipt and updates.  If you wish your manuscripts returned, please include
second SASE with enough postage.  for book summary send SASE to address
below;
book summaries cannot be sent electronically via email.

Going There is still manifesting the perfect publisher, therefore exact form
of payment and other legal terms haven't been established.  All contributors
will be updated as soon as fees and publishing rights have been set.

About the Editor 

Luna Calderón is a thirty something hybrid Latina, born in Brazil, raised in
Mexico and the US.  A psychotherapist by profession, writer by vocation she
has always been fascinated with the workings of creativity in her personal as
well as professional life. She is currently completing her MFA in creative
writing at Mills College, passionately compiling this anthology which has
been gestating for years and hard at work on her first novel.
