The Research Repository: A Registry of Research Needs and Interests-Connecting
Potential Collaborators
Technical Communication has not been known as a profession with a particularly
strong basis in theory and research. Members of the profession are often
too busy solving problems and meeting deadlines to do some of the extra
work or document what has been done. This site has been established as
a central site to connect those who want to do research, those who want
to fund research, and those who have the need for research results. It
could pave the way for more and better research in our profession.

fund research
- Those seeking to fund specific research projects could connect with
those interested in doing the research and capable of doing it
- Those seeking to do or fund research could connect with those who
have successfully done so in the past-helping to pave the way for
new collaborations
- Those seeking to do research could connect with those who have done
similar research and learn from their experience
- Those seeking to do research could examine the research base of
what has already been done to identify gaps to be filled
Establishing and maintaining this site requires collaboration and support
from industrial organizations, academic institutions, and professional
societies. We will be updating and adding to this site regularly. If
