Strategic Information Policy and Planning
Who We Are
Strategic Information Policy and Planning is a functional unit within the domain of the Chief Information Officer of the Institute. SIPP participates in the planning efforts for the entire division. It also provides leadership and direction for Information policy development both at the division and at the Institute level.
Information Policies
The Chief Information Officer has Institute-wide responsibility for policy, standards, and practices related to information technology, to information systems, and to information handling.
All Institute policies are reviewed and approved by the President. In the following list, items categorized as draft policy have been released to the campus for comment before being submitted to the President for her approval.
The policy on Electronic Citizenship covers the general conditions of use for campus information technology resources.
Other polices and related documents exist for information systems and technology. The public documents are accessible by all; the campus-only documents require an RCS userid.
Policies in development are available for review either as campus-only documents, which have been released to the campus community for comment, or as DotCIO-only documents, which have been released to the staff of the CIO division for comment. An RCS userid is required for access in either case.
