James Mark Delivers Spring 2004 Reed Lecture

On Tuesday, April 20, Professor James Mark delivered the 2004 Charles E. Reed Lectureship entitled "Some of the Things That Makes Polysiloxanes Fascinating Materials." The lecture was open to the general public and held at Rensselaer's Troy campus. Professor James Mark is a member of the chemistry department at the University of Cincinnati.

The Charles E. Reed Lectureship was established in 1994 through the efforts of Rensselaer Professor James Crivello and Jon Rich of the GE Corporate Research and Development Center. The first lecture was delivered in 1996. The lecture series honors Charles Reed, a pioneer in chemical engineering who was hailed by his peers for his lifelong contributions to the silicone field (see Charles E. Reed for additional details).
