As a science major, the one thing I knew was that after completing my B.S. degree, I would be rewarded with more schooling. The Accelerated B.S./Ph.D. Program allowed me to get a jump start on continuing my education by taking advantage of the extra time I had from transferring AP credits. At first I was worried that the program would dictate the rest of my time as an undergraduate but that is not the case. I was able to arrange my classes so I will be spending the 2008-2009 academic year at the University of Sussex in England without losing any time on my degrees.
I recently finished a rotation with Dr. Robert Linhardt, where I was exposed to a variety of nanotechnology and biochemistry projects. Currently, I am doing a rotation in Dr. Linda McGown’s lab. In her lab, I am researching G-quadruplex structures in DNA strands using HeLa and Human Fetal Thymus cells.
In my free time I like to box, go running, read, and watch movies. I am also in the sailing club, manager of the wrestling team, and sister of Sigma Delta Sorority.
