Over the last few years, I worked closely with Tetherless World Constellation Professors on several Semantic Web and e-Science related projects. One of the projects I worked with Professor Fox is called Multi-Sensor Data Synergy Advisor (MDSA). The goal is to use semantic web technologies and ontologies to build online tools for data access, visualization and analysis and support data inter-comparisons from different sensors or models.
Also, I am involving in the data-gov project led by Professor James Hendler, Professor Deborah McGuinness, and Dr. Li Ding. This project is about using semantic web technology to investigate the open government datasets. The students involved in this project have converted almost 10 billion triples of RDF datasets and built dozens of demo bases on the converted datasets. The particular demos that I have been working on is building a semantic search system using RDFa technologies and Yahoo! Boss API and International Open Goverment Dataset Search which is a facet search system for converted dataset. List of demos can be found at http://logd.tw.rpi.edu/demos.
I also work on Semantic Similarity Project with Professor Fox. In this project, I am developing new algorithm to compute semantic similarity metrics between Linked Data Entities and apply semantic similarity computation algorithm to develop various applications such as Linked Data Instance Matching tools.
I was invited to apply to the Accelerated B.S./Ph.D. Program in the first semester of my second year here at RPI. I was advised by the deans about the plans of my future studies and research. It turns out to be a very useful and joyful experience; the research projects I participated in are interesting, and the professors and researchers I met are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Outside of research, I am interested in playing table tennis, badminton, and swimming. RPI has clubs for all of these sports, so I can go to practice and play in my free time.
