Procurement Services Update - March 14, 2013
As you may know, Procurement Services is undergoing a transformation from tactical purchasing to strategic sourcing. The rebranding of our Department from “Purchasing” to “Procurement Services” is testament to this initiative. Through this process, our goal is to better identify and harness the Institute's buying power and partner with key preferred suppliers to leverage our spend. Our aim is that this strategic approach will result in augmented supplier relations, product and service availability to campus, and increased cost savings to the Institute. But that's just the start!
Many of you have attended our Supplier Showcases in the past to learn about the services offered by Procurement and our suppliers. Though we plan on organizing a Supplier Showcase for the Fall of 2013, our Procurement Services Update is an opportunity for us to not only update you on the changes going on in our office, the Rensselaer Marketplace and OSCAR, but also to partner with you on the measures we've taken to improve processes and augment the Institute's buying experiences. Below is an overview of the meeting agenda:
- Roles and Responsibilities – Aimed at making your procurements more efficient
