Non-Capital Equipment
Non-Capital Equipment is defined as any movable asset that:
- valued at less than $3000 unless it is a fabrication or component part
- greater than $3000 only if the useful life is less than 1 year
- not permanently affixed to a building
Be sure to use the appropriate Property Account Codes:
- Chair, fax machine, audio visual equipment, scientific apparatus Code 006
- Software any off the shelf (without signed license agreement and renewable maintenance) Code 007
- Examples Microsoft products, Adobe Acrobat
- Computer/related equipment and supplies Code 008
- Examples Diskettes, cables, power strips
