Capital Equipment
Capital Equipment is defined as any movable asset that:
- is valued at $3000 or more
- has a useful life span of 1 year or more
- is not permanently affixed to a building
Capital equipment purchases are allowed using the P-Card, but require account code reclassification. Be sure to use the appropriate Property Account Codes:
Non-Federally Funded
- Chair, fax machine, audio visual equipment, scientific apparatus Code 175
- Computer/related equipment Code 176
Federally Funded (Funds beginning with A1, A3, B1, B3 or 9)
- Chair, fax machine, audio visual equipment, scientific apparatus Code 178
- Computer/related equipment - Code 173
Plant Fund (Funds beginning with 9)
- Chair, fax machine, audio visual equipment, scientific apparatus and computer/related equipment Code 179
