Rensselaer Preferred Suppliers

Procurement Services is the only Institute department authorized to solicit, negotiate and implement Institute-wide Master Agreements with suppliers. Suppliers with Master Agreements receive Preferred Supplier status and, in return, guarantee contractual pricing that provides the overall "least total cost" to the Institute for Rensselaer's most commonly ordered products and services.

Procurement Services administers strategic sourcing initiatives to identify the best contracting strategy to leverage the Institute's annual buying power without imposing any restrictions on manufacturers or products required by faculty and staff. However, to ensure that Procurement Services is able to maximize the value of every dollar of the Institute's funding, all faculty and staff are encouraged to utilize Rensselaer Preferred Suppliers.

Rensselaer Marketplace Suppliers

Orders placed through supplier product catalogs in the Rensselaer Marketplace do not require additional processing by Procurement Services. Most Marketplace Suppliers have a Master Agreement in place that contains negotiated terms and discounted pricing allowing a department to place the order directly with the supplier through OSCAR. Please note that not all Marketplace Suppliers are Rensselaer Preferred Suppliers.
