Your Safety

It’s a Full-Time Responsibility!

Rensselaer’s Department of Public Safety strives to maintain a safe and secure campus.

Twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, our officers are on duty fulfilling a broad range of law-enforcement duties consistent with the needs of the Renssealer community.

Still, maintaining pleasant and safe surroundings is everyone’s responsibility.

Our best policing is done when students, faculty, or staff notice suspicious activity and contact Public Safety.

There have been many potential incidents that were stopped in their tracks because someone took the first step to call us when they noticed suspicious or inappropriately behaving persons in their vicinity.

Please take a few moments to read our safety guidelines and recommendations — you can truly help yourself and our community by proactively taking first responsibility for your personal safety and the safety of your belongings.
