The Rensselaer Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan
Each person should familiarize themselves with the safety and emergency planning information available at Rensselaer. In the event of an emergency, it can serve as a quick reference for effective action.
To better ensure your safety while at Rensselaer, many additional safety measures have been put in place over the last few years including the development of the Rensselaer Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan. This plan is reviewed and revised as necessary to ensure that Rensselaer continues to be a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The Rensselaer Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan integrates fully with local, state, and federal emergency plans. In an emergency, Rensselaer is prepared to work together with these agencies to protect our campus community.
Please support the effort by taking the time to read all safety information and understand your role in an emergency. Important information on how to respond to different emergencies is available on this Web site. Knowing what actions to take ahead of time, developing a personal safety plan, and staying alert will save time and help you to stay safe. Take the responsibility to be prepared.
Be vigilant and observant of anything that might be suspicious, reporting your observations to the Public Safety Department at 276-6611 or 911 from a campus phone.
