Physics Bachelor of Science Degree

The B.S. degree in Physics provides students with a sound foundation in the fundamental theoretical and experimental scientific principles. At Rensselaer, undergraduate students are integrated into our various research programs as part of their studies.

Applied Physics Degree

The Applied Physics B.S. Curriculum allows students to concentrate their studies in some particular area, in conjunction with a sound foundation in Physics. This concentration is determined after consultation with your academic advisor, and appears explicitly on your degree diploma. An enormous variety of concentrations are possible.

Physics Dual Degree Programs

It is possible for students to earn a B.S. degree in two distinct fields within a normal four year schedule. These "dual degree" programs are constructed by using free electives in one curriculum to satisfy the requirements of a different curriculum. The degree diploma reflects the fact that the student has satisfied the requirements for two separate B.S. degrees. Many such combinations are possible, for example:
