Using the Telescope

Short Shutdown Checklist

Close the dome using the Close Shutter command from the Dome menu.

Use the Mirror Park command from the Telescope menu to lower the telescope. Replace the primary and finder scope covers.

Park the telescope using the Zenith Park command from the Telescope menu. This will move the telescope upright and turn off tracking.

Once the telescope is covered and at zenith park, turn the key in the telescope (counterclockwise).

When the dome has finished closing, use the Azimuth control from the Dome menu to manually move the dome to a parking position; 250 degrees is recommended. This will also turn off automatic dome tracking.

Turn off the computer screens and lights on your way out. If you were using the camera, make sure it has been powered off properly.
