Lisa Pietruszka
Mechanical Engineering

GAANN Fellow

I’m currently working with Prof. Theodorian Borca-Tascuic in the Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering.  We study the thermal and electrical properties of nanoparticles, specifically carbon nanotubes.

More specifically, I use the 3ω method to determine the small temperature and electrical changes in these tubes.

Within the next year I plan to receive my masters and further the research using the 3ω method coupled with an atomic force microscope (AFM) to achieve an accurate and reliable result for the thermoelectric properties of various nanowires.  The advancement of this technology will be beneficial to the semiconductor and electronic industries.
