Using a text editor like WordPad, open the file
\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\res\fonts\fontEncoding.properties
The "Program Files" directory (folder) is generally on the C: drive but
could be elsewhere on machines with custom installations. |
 |
Find the line reading
encoding.symbol.ttf = Adobe-Symbol-Encoding
This should be near the top of the "fontEncoding.properties" file. |
 |
Change this line to read
encoding.symbol.ttf = windows-1252
|
 |
Then save the "fontEncoding.properties" file, close any open
Netscape windows, and re-start Netscape. You should now have the
symbol font. |
 |
Go back to the Technology Requirements page and verify the symbol font
is working. |

These instructions were found at the following website: http://www.alzforum.org/res/com/ant/NetscapeSymbol.asp.
They worked on our PC; hopefully they will work on your machine too. |
