Lectures and recitations with in-class activities.

Text

An Introduction fo Galaxies & Cosmology by M. Jones & R. Lambourne is required.

Calculator

You will need a calculator on Thursdays. A very basic model is sufficient. It should be able to do addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, and support scientific notation.

Academic Honesty

Students are responsible for upholding the rules of academic honesty as spelled out in the Rensselaer Handbook. This includes but is not limited to falsifying attendance at lectures, which is an infraction for both parties involved. A single instance of cheating will result in a failing grade for the course.
