Practice Problems for The Speed of Light and the Index of Refraction

When answering these questions, you may want to refer to the Table containing indices of refraction.
To submit an answer in scientific notation, use E as in 3.00E8 for the speed of light in meters per second.

Submit your answer heremeters per second

Note:  In an effort to get this module done in time for beta testing, significant figures have not been accounted for in these practice pages.  All numeric answers will be checked to within 1%, so you should report at least three digits of each numeric answer.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Note:  In an effort to get this module done in time for beta testing, significant figures have not been accounted for in these practice pages.  Speeds in this problem have been calculated to five significant figures, even though not all indices of refraction were listed to five figures.  Five significant figures was used as the standard, however, to distinguish air from vacuum.  We apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause you.
