Troy Snow Emergency Plan

When conditions warrant, the Mayor will declare a SNOW EMERGENCY which will
begin at either 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m., and will be in effect on DESIGNATED SNOW EMERGENCY STREETS ONLY

All radio and television stations will be advised and will announce that the city of
Troy SNOW EMERGENCY is in effect at either 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m.

This announcement will give residents enough time to move vehicles in accordance with
emergency postings - approx. 8-10 hours

Normal parking rules and restrictions are temporarily suspended on DESIGNATED SNOW EMERGENCY STREETS ONLY

During the first 24 hours of the SNOW EMERGENCY, PARKING ON THE ODD NUMBERED SIDE OF THE DESIGNATED STREET IS PROHIBITED! Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed

Crews will proceed with snow plowing operations on the ODD NUMBERED side of the street for the first 24 hours.

During the second 24 hours of the SNOW EMERGENCY, PARKING ON THE EVEN NUMBERED SIDE OF THE DESIGNATED STREET IS PROHIBITED! Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed.

Crews will proceed with snow plowing operations on the EVEN NUMBERED side of the street for the second 24 hours.

After 48 hours have passed from the initial SNOW EMERGENCY time designation, the emergency will be officially over unless circumstances warrant additional time.

CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT parking restrictions remain in effect as currently posted unless otherwise notified.
