Student Parking Permits
First-year students may not register a vehicle for parking on Rensselaer property.
First-year students who feel they have exceptional needs to register their vehicle for parking on campus -- for example, due to medical issues, employment, or other extenuating circumstances -- must complete a First Year Student Parking Permit Petition form.
Parking permits are required on all vehicles and are not transferable.
Any number of vehicles owned by one person may be registered however, only one registered vehicle is allowed on campus at any one time. Only one (1), transferable hang tag (or decal in the case of motorcycles only) will be issued with each permit. If a second vehicle is required to be on campus it must be registered at the full price of the permit. Additional transponders or replacement transponders will be replaced at a cost of $15.00. A $6 replacement fee will be charged for lost or stolen permits.
Student permits are valid when issued and expire on June 30th of each year. Students may not apply for academic year permits before June 15th. However, summer (S) permits are available beginning May 18th and are valid through the Friday before fall semester classes begin.
Permits must be obtained in person (or by a designee) from the Campus Parking office located in the Auxiliary, Parking, and Transportation Services building between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
