Recreation at Rensselaer

RPI offers a great variety of of activities to visitors and members alike. Whether it's strolling through the beautiful campus, visiting historic downtown Troy, or partaking in the the landscaped Adirondacks thirty minutes away, you and your guests will find something to do.

See the beautiful campus For the athletically inclined, the campus has indoor squash, handball, basketball and volleyball courts, a running track, and two swimming pools. Bowling alleys, a video games room and billiard and table-tennis tables can also be found right on campus as well as outdoor athletic fields, tennis courts and a running track.

There are many things to do off-campus as well. Camping, hiking, canoeing, sailing, whitewater rafting, waterskiing, fishing, hunting and biking are all less than an hour away in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains of New York State, The Green Mountains of Vermont and the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

For cultural recreation, there is the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, summer home of the New York City Ballet, Philadelphia Orchestra and the Newport Jazz festival.

All of these attractions - and more, from Revolutionary War battlefields to local art museums - combine to make the Capital Region one of the most appealing and diverse in the North East.
