CROSS COUNTRY
The Rensselaer women's team concluded its 2009 campaign at the NCAA Championships on Saturday. The meet marked the first appearance by the Engineers at Nationals. Freshman Marie Ferro (Endwell, NY) who led RPI with a time of 23:26.1, finished 80th of 280 competitors as the Engineers ended up 28th out of 32 teams.
WOMEN'S HOCKEY
The Engineers went 0-1-0 last week, falling at fourth-ranked New Hampshire (4-3) on Saturday. Sophomore Alisa Harrison (Vienna, VA) scored her third and fourth goals of the year. Rensselaer (4-7-4; 2-2-2 ECACH) returns to the ice Friday and Saturday in a two-game series at Robert Morris. Both games begin at 2pm. MEN'S HOCKEY
Rensselaer went 0-1-0 last week, dropping a non-league contest at Niagara (4-1) on Wednesday. Senior Paul Kerins (Weston, ON) notched the lone goal for the Engineers.
RPI is back on the ice this weekend, when it hosts the 59th Annual RPI Holiday Tournament at the Houston Field House. The Engineers open against Bentley on Friday (7pm) and will face either Lake Superior State or Union on Saturday (7pm).

SWIMMING & DIVING
Both teams were idle last week and will return to the pool on December 4 and 5, when they compete in the Liberty League Championships, hosted by the University of Rochester.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Engineers went 1-1 last week, topping Cooper Union (97-53) in the opening round of the Rensselaer Tip-Off Tournament, before being edged by MIT in the final (56-55). Junior Travis Jones (East Greenbush, NY) averaged 8.5 points in the two games. Rensselaer hosts non-league foes Mount Saint Mary on Tuesday (8pm) and Paul Smith's College (NY) on Sunday (4pm) at East Campus Arena. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Rensselaer went 0-2 last week, dropping both games in the Salem State Tip-Off Tournament to Northwood University (68-55) and Salem State (69-66). Graduate student Whitney Coleman (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in the two games. The Engineers return to action on December 1, when they visit the Albany College of Pharmacy (7pm).
**As is the case with 21 of Rensselaer’s 23 intercollegiate programs (exceptions are football and men’s hockey), there is no admission charged for home games.
