| Undergraduate Cooperative Education
The Cooperative Education Program at Rensselaer is an integration of academic and industrial study and experience. By combining a work period outside the classroom with normal course work, a student becomes aware of the value of his or her academic area.
Each year about six or seven Mathematics majors are in the program.

The Co-Op Program is a convenient way for students to obtain first-hand knowledge of a company and to see how their academic programs would relate to a permanent job position.
The employer also benefits by having on-the-job evaluation of a prospective employee and by attracting good students who, after graduation, may return as permanent employees at higher than starting salaries.
